Seminars

For Parents
New to Spring to Mind Learning!

We are very pleased to offer seminars to parents to discuss the learning needs of students.  Parenting students who are struggling in school can be very challenging.  There are so many aspects to consider, all of which can cause mental and emotional stress for both the student and the parent.  This seminar discusses some of the ways that parents can best support their children through their learning journey.

The 2 hour seminar is separated into two sections.  The first section is a presentation of information about providing a positive, caring, advocacy for your child while allowing them to take agency of their own learning journey.  The second section is a discussion to talk about specific challenges each parent is facing and work collectively in the group towards a positive, actionable plan to begin working towards a learning goal for your child.

The presentation will include information about:

  1. How can I support my child’s learning when they are completing difficult homework?
  2. What resources are available at home to support subject matter knowledge gaps in a variety of subjects?
  3. What are the most important learning skills my child needs to succeed?
  4. How can I help my child reduce their stress about academic expectations at school?
  5. When should I be concerned about my child’s learning?
  6. How can I reduce the stress around assessment results, report cards and parent-teacher interviews?
  7. What can I do to advocate for my child within the school system?
